Eleven fans were injured on Saturday due to a technical malfunction of the escalator at American Family Field in the United States. The incident occurred after the Milwaukee Brewers lost 5-3 to the Chicago Cubs.
Interestingly, last season the Brewers repaired and renovated the entire escalator system; The total cost of repairs was about 500 million dollars. However, the technical defect of the escalator in the stadium led to the accident.
In a statement released by the Brewers after the incident; It is stated: “After the end of today’s game, an escalator that led the spectators to the exit door in the stadium; got into trouble Due to this problem, the speed of the escalator suddenly increased and 11 people were injured. Five of the injured were treated at the scene of the accident, but the rest were taken to the hospital for treatment.
American Family Field was built in 2001 and is the 12th new stadium in MLB.
